a blooming outfitter 2010
07 April 2011
In our third year of ownership, we have again built and renovated a lot.
The Jenny, on lake Laviolette, has undergone a major renovation. This cabin has been abandoned for many years, among others because it was only accessible by boat. Its accessibility has been greatly improved by the construction of a footbridge for the pedestrian trail around Lake Laviolette. Appart from the framework and the roof, everything was redone, and it is now a very pleasant place for a couple alone or with children. Only one room is closed, but with a large living room, a kitchen with full cooking gear and a wide mosquito protected veranda with a BBQ, It gives an impression of space and calm. On the outside, this impression is confirmed by the absence of a road, the wide view on the lake, the beach, and the forest that encircle the other sides. No phone, computer, internet.
The Huard and The Héron
Those two twins are not identical, but have many similarities. Both are new, built on the same lake in fall 2010. They can each accommodate comfortably 8 people thanks to their two toilets.
The Huard has a ground floor bedroom, two upstairs bedrooms and even a futon for eventual snoring member of the group. From gang of friends to groups of couples, everybody will enjoy the place to get back together and spend quality time. The Lake Murray, the largest of the outfitter, is still to explore, and one weekend will not be too much to do so. Other lakes in the area can also be used in case of strong winds or for other species than northern pike or lake trout that are present there. Attention: the yellow walleye, which had disappear from this lake and has been reintroduced must be put back in the water this coming year again in case of accidental capture.
The Héron, our last born, can be surprising by its original shape for a cabin, but its mansard roof has allowed us to make three bedroom upstairs, one open and two closed; this free the whole ground floor for kitchen, dining room, living room and a large mosquito protected veranda.
These two cabins, accessible through the same road, are not in sight of each other, although quite enough in order to allow large groups (12-18 persons) to get together on the same lake.
The Malfait and the Dépot
In our first year of ownership, especially in the spring, we had to move quickly in order to be able to welcome as many visitors as possible. In order to do so, two cabins had been renovated quickly. We did the job again this year, more thoroughly.
The Dépot has been enlarged, especially for the communal area, and can now welcome up to 8 person (a minimum of 6 is required for a reservation in the weekend). It is now equiped with a full gas cooker and a normal size fridge, plus a small one in the veranda.
The Malfait (Golum) has been transformed by adding a mosquito covered porch and a full bathroom. There is now two small fridge and 4 people can stay there comfortably.
